Acro Gymnastics is a dynamic and artistic sport that combines elements of gymnastics, dance, and acrobatics. It involves partnerships of gymnasts working together to perform routines that include balance, strength, flexibility, and agility. These routines are performed on a standard gymnastics floor and are set to music, enhancing the performance's artistic appeal.
In acro gymnastics, athletes perform in pairs or groups, such as women's pairs, men's pairs, mixed pairs, women's groups (three gymnasts), or men's groups (four gymnasts). Each routine consists of three types of exercises: balance exercises, which focus on strength and poise; dynamic exercises, which include throws and catches; and combined exercises, which integrate elements of both balance and dynamic routines.
Acro gymnastics emphasizes teamwork, coordination, and trust between partners, making it a unique and captivating discipline within the gymnastics world.
